About Us

Founded in 1990 as the educational arm of the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (GAHSA), the Georgia Institute on Aging is a leading provider of timely and informative educational opportunities for its members and the residents they serve, state and local policy makers, professionals in the field of aging and the community at large.

Among the events held in 2006 were:

-- A Two-Day Service Coordinators Conference
-- Financing Long Term Care in America with Barbara Manard, the health policy researcher on the staff of AAHSA
-- A series of workshops entitled Spirituality in Aging including Intimacy in Aging, Sacred Aging, and Completing a           Life with Dignity
-- Ongoing Forums for various groups, among them Maintenance Professionals, Adult Day Service Personnel, Service           Coordinators, Activity Directors, HUD Administrators, and many others.
-- Sales Boot Camp, a two-day program to develop marketing skills.
-- Medicare Part-D Update
-- Building Organizational Trust and Developing Transformational Leaders, a workshop for housing     professionals           presented by Michele Holleran of Holleran Consulting
